Eleventy Sixpence
When i was little my grandparents lived and worked on a theme park set in the woods called the ‘Bygone Village’ where everything was set in the Victorian times. My grandma used to work in the tea rooms dressed as an old fashioned waitress and then other times she was a school mistress in the old fashioned school house where she would throw chalk at all the visitors (which i loved) There was an old Victorian themed fairground with an old Helter Skelter, rope pull swings, a Maypole, Humbug shops, hat shops, taxidermist and everything, it was pretty amazing when i think back and everyone who worked there dressed in the proper costume. My grandad did tons of odd jobs but my favorite was that he worked the Calliope sometimes and i would get to sit in the back while it played and watch all the cogs and whistles working. At the time Worzel Gummidge was my favorite tv show and at Christmas Jon Pertwee of Dr Who fame who also played Worzel Gummidge in the show used to come to the Bygone Village and set up his own little scarecrow grotto where you could meet him instead of Santa and tell him what you wanted for Christmas. I got to see Worzel a few years running, he was brilliant and i always got special Worzel treats since my grandparents lived there. He was the mascot for the village. But, he would always give you the Worzel Gummidge annual for that year for Christmas all signed and everything, it was really so amazing there running about in my granny’s heels, petting the Pigs and chasing the Peacocks…..seeing Worzel……it’s sad, the Bygone Village is all gone now….but my grandparents still live in their little bungalow there on ‘The Village’ land….Tried to find some good pictures of it online but there is nothing much documented which seems such a shame…I miss England….
WORZ!
Minimalism with a Plus, Plus, Plus!
I saw Duggie Fields walking towards me at Portobello Market, London when i was 17…he looked so amazing and peculiar. I turned around after he passed me so i could look some more and when i turned he too was turning and staring right at me and it really scared me seeing him standing still looking right at me, like he had caught me out. I had no idea who Duggie Fields was at the time but i never forgot that him and that weird experience, i always wondered about that funny man… and then one night a year or two later i was watching a documentary on Syd Barret on t.v and Duggie pops up on the screen. Turns out the The Madcap Laughs cover was Duggie’s place Syd shared with him at the time. Anyways, i know who he is now and i have been a huge fan these last few years and of course his whole gang… Zandra, Andrew, Luciana …they really are all the best most inspiring people…favorites of mine…
Well, i have a huge crush on Duggie so look out, i’m posting tons of pictures here…

…A Favorite for a Favorite…
- With my ego in my gut,
- My babbling mouth would wash it up.
- (But now I’ve started learning how,)
- I keep it shut.
- My door was never locked,
- Until one day a trigger come cocking.
- (But now I’ve started learning how,)
- I keep it shut.
- Wide eyes would clean and dust
- Things that decay, things that rust.
- (But now I’ve started learning how,)
- I keep ‘em shut.
- I keep ‘em shut.

- Harm is in us, but power to arm.
- Harm is in us.
- Harm in us, but power to arm.
- Harm is in us.
- (”Leave it open!”)
- Harm is in us, but power to arm.
- Narrow mind would persecute it,
- Die a little to get to it.
- (But now I’ve started learning how.)
- I leave it open.
- I kept it in a cage,
- Watched it weeping, but I made it stay.
- (But now I’ve started learning how.)
- I leave it open.
- I leave it open.
- Harm is in us.
- Harm in us, but power to arm.
- Harm is in us.

Surreal Eden
Fantasy, surrealist paradise….one of Leonor Fini’s favorite places…built by Edward James….a place of bizarre contrasts, away from the modern world…a precarious outpost on the fringe of the magic and mystery of the forests that surrounded it. The identities of respected local healers, not to mention the feared wizards or witches, were a whispered secret in Xilitla, and supersittion and sorcery were palpable beneath the surface of religious belief…..
